Well, the saying goes There is no better place than home....the most common factor that would make you reminisce your home place for a person that has been away from home for a while would probably be the the home made cuisine. Being stuck in the Arabian peninsula especially in a country like Q8, I do miss my home town style cuisines. But of course being an avid meat eater...I do miss eating piggy-meat and other delicacies of Goa. So me and my friends decided to go to this restaurant called Dakshin by Ceasars Group. Its specialties are cuisines from the south of India - Andra Pradesh, Kerala, Mangalore, Goa, Tamil, Etc.
So we ordered The Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Xacuti, and some other dishes from Mangalore and Kerala. To my disappointment the other dishes were way better than the Goan ones. Sad to say but there isn't any good restaurant in Kuwait that serves authentic Goan Dishes, which basically means if I need to get it, my only option would be to head down to Goa and get it. The gravy dishes lacked thickness and richness which didnt bring out the real flavors.
Anyways interestingly enough I decided to try the dessert which kinda caught my attention - Pineapple,Lemon, Orange and Coconut Ice cream were being served in the real fruit shell. And so we decided to order the Pineapple and the Orange Ice cream since this was gonna be my first time trying out an ice cream like this plus the heat is getting to me, yeah the weather here is rising....towards HOTTT!
The orange was ok not too good but the pineapple ice cream was nice, as it had bits of pineapple in the ice cream, thus giving it a nice flavor of the ice cream but not spoiling it but overdoing the flavor.
Well i always goof up by somehow getting a stain on my shirt while eating my meals. No matter how careful I am, I unwillingly tend to get a stain on my shirts. I remember my mom screaming at me all the time, asking if I was a civilized guy or a Junglee for not being able to eat properly. Sorry Mummy! :P
I really do miss home, and home cooked meal. hopefully soon enough I will get a chance to relish it again. :)
